![]() Usage: I have used the OpenFit for over 24 hours, and in a variety of situations including at the gym, out for a walk, and at home. Overall I have to say I am very impressed. Having an old pair of AfterShokz I was really interested to see how the new OpenFit would compare to my previous headphones. So far so good, and I’m looking forward to many more miles in the OpenFit. The only other piece of feedback is that the case itself feels a bit lightweight – a more robust case would give the impression of an even higher quality product. I haven’t yet worn the OpenFit for long enough to see whether this is an issue. Half way through the run the battery died altogether. I’ve walked around with the earbuds on for a couple of hours before a marathon, and the battery has been running down (even when not listening to anything). For example there have been times where I’ve been headed to a race and don’t want to carry a carry case for my earbuds. The only downside from what I can see is not being able to turn them off / back on without having the case to hand. The over-ear design is comfortable, the rubber is soft even when wearing sunglasses at the same time (which I was initially concerned about). Battery life appears to be good – I ran for 3 hours at the weekend with no issues, the case re-charges them between use. Pairing was super easy, and there’s no buttons to press to activate the headphones, you just open the case, put them on, and hit the play button. I’ve been really impressed with the sound quality improvements, particularly on parts of my running route where I’m by busy roads – the open ear design means that heavy traffic noises do drown out some of the sound from the earphones, but there’s been an improvement in the OpenFit. Having previously used OpenRun Pro I was keen to see how the new ones stacked up. I’ve been using the OpenFit for a week now, on my daily runs. If they were a runner or just wanted them for an alternative to earbuds then I would certainly recommend them. For example, if they’re a cyclist and were wanting to use them riding, I’d have to point them to your banded alternatives. That said, if someone asked me if I’d recommend these to them, I’d have to hesitate slightly and first ask them what they are wanting to use them for. I am very much an advocate for your products and I have been since my first pair of Trekz Titanium. I was impressed from the second I opened the box and set them up. Overall I am enjoying the Openfits so far and it is a good step into a different market for you. While the ability to hear around you is more limited, you still can hear at lower volumes. Much more so than the aeropex for example. They look and feel like a premium product. I was impressed at how quick and simple they were to pick up and use out of the box. I’ve been quite impressed with this and the fact that the case can add further charge is good for long days out. ![]() The battery life appears to be pretty good so far. This wasn’t something I was able to do with the aeropex as I was always concerned I’d lose or break them. It also makes it easier to pop them in your pocket if you’ve worn them to commute somewhere. A great idea and it has a good solid and premium feel. I found it very easy to navigate and use. I made my own profile immediately, which suited my taste and music preferences. The introduction of an app and an equaliser is a great addition. I have since tweaked the EQ more and it’s made it better, but at the expense of the range of bass. Much better sound quality than previous models, but please refer to no 2 of the negatives. They were very light and comfortable for the majority of the time.
